Trauma-Focused CBT
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) is an evidence-based treatment for children and adolescents impacted by trauma and their parents or caregivers.
Research shows that TF-CBT successfully resolves a broad array of emotional and behavioral difficulties associated with single, multiple and complex trauma experiences.
Batterers Intervention Program
Batterer Intervention Programs (BIP) are programs that batterers attend—some voluntarily, some under court order—to educate and rehabilitate the batterer.
The goal of BIPs is to change offender thinking and behavior with the result that offenders are held accountable and victim safety is enhanced and to decrease the likelihood of further violence.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an example of one type of psychotherapy that can help people with anxiety disorders. It teaches people different ways of thinking, behaving, and reacting to anxiety-producing and fearful objects and situations. CBT can also help people learn and practice social skills, which is vital for treating social anxiety disorder.
Group Therapy
Group therapy involves one or more psychologists who lead a group of roughly five to 15 patients. Typically, groups meet for an hour or two each week. Some people attend individual therapy in addition to groups, while others participate in groups only.
Accent Therapeutic Groups focus more generally on improving social skills, helping people deal with a range of issues such as anger, shyness, loneliness and low self-esteem.
Thank you for choosing Accent Therapeutic Services!
providing supportive therapeutic interventions to strengthen family and individual functioning.
Our focus is helping adolescents/teenagers (ages 8 to 19) as well as the families that support them who may be dealing with behavioral issues, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, relationship issues, adjustment disorders, stress and self-esteem. Our therapists have specialized training to address trauma and abuse.
Therapy is a collaboration where we discover the areas where you want to make changes in your life and work toward. Our therapists like to highlight a patient’s strengths and use them to improve their confidence in therapy. Our therapeutic approach is very direct and we have a policy of “not beating around the bush”; but such is done in a very compassionate and strengths-based manner.
Anxiety and stress take on many different forms. Stress from work, being a parent, a student, or just daily life can take a once peaceful life and turn it upside-down, creating conflict in our various relationships. No matter what stressors you face, we’ll be there to help you learn the tools necessary to overcome every obstacle that gets in your way.
