Jamie is a licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of Kentucky. He specializes in working with individuals ages 8yrs and up that are experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, PTSD, or difficulties managing their anger or emotions. Jamie is a certified Batterer Intervention Provider who works with adults mandated by the courts to receive services. Jamie offers individual and group therapy, family and couples counseling, testing and assessment, as well as crisis intervention services.
Developing new skills is important to Jamie, who has been trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Juvenile Sex Offender Counseling. Furthermore, he has been trained in the Seven Challenges methodology for addressing substance use and am currently certified in the Prime For Life program often used with 1st time DUI Offenders.
On the weekends, Jamie runs the Project: Ascension group, a social skills-focused psyoeducational therapeutic group that focuses on the development of positive coping skills through group play. The group uses role-playing games to create a collaborative environment where participants work together to overcome challenges. Therapeutically, participants will be learning and building mastery of distress tolerance, communication, interpersonal effectiveness, and conflict resolution-focused DBT skills, gaining many additional important therapeutic tools over the course of the session. This group is perfect for teens experiencing a variety of mental health struggles including depression, anxiety, or difficulties socializing with others.
